Description We are offering a contract employment opportunity for a Senior Accountant in South San Francisco, California. This role is within the Biotech/Pharma industry and will involve a range of accounting responsibilities, including month-end close, balance sheet reconciliations, and audit preparation. The successful candidate will also be proficient in QuickBooks.Responsibilities: Handle month-end close processes to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting. Prepare and record journal entries as part of the general ledger upkeep. Perform balance sheet reconciliations, including cash, prepaids, accruals, and fixed assets. Utilize QuickBooks for various accounting tasks and financial management. Prepare for audits by organizing necessary financial documents and information. Use Microsoft Excel for data analysis and reporting. Conduct account reconciliation to ensure accurate reporting and ledger maintenance. Monitor bank reconciliations and resolve any discrepancies that may arise. Collaborate with other team members to support overall accounting team goals.Requirements Proficiency in Account Reconciliation, Balance Sheet Reconciliation, and Bank Reconciliations is required. Hands-on experience with General Ledger and Journal Entries tasks is essential. Mastery of Microsoft Excel and QuickBooks is needed. Capable of executing Month End Close procedures efficiently. Prior experience in Audit Prep is advantageous. Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field is preferred. Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or similar certification will be considered an asset. Strong analytical skills and attention to detail. Strong organizational skills for maintaining clear, accurate, and meticulous financial records. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
