Sr. Accountant

Description We are seeking a Senior Accountant for a short term contract employment opportunity in South San Francisco, California. The role is within the biopharmaceutical industry where you will be entrusted with a variety of accounting functions, including handling payroll for employees across multiple states, maintaining financial records in SAP, and performing account reconciliations.Responsibilities: Oversee and execute payroll accounting for employees in multiple states Handle the amortization of prepaid expenses and accrual of expenses Maintain and reconcile accounts and the general ledger using SAP Business 1 Carry out other monthly and quarterly closing activities Prepare and analyze monthly financial reports Formulate the annual budget and annual cash forecast Maintain the accounting system (SAP Business One) Assist with the annual tax return process including income tax and property tax Share knowledge and provide support to team members and internal customers Manage finance files such as vouchers, invoices, and client/vendor contracts.Requirements Must hold a minimum of 5 years of experience Proficiency in Accounts Payable (AP) procedures is essential Prior experience with ADP - Payroll systems is required Must be capable of handling Month End Close processes effectively Familiarity with SAP business 1 software is a must Strong knowledge of Accruals accounting is necessary Previous experience in the Biopharmaceuticals industry is highly preferred Must possess strong communication and leadership skills A Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is required Professional certification in Accounting (CPA, CMA, etc.) is a plus Must have strong analytical skills and attention to detail Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other accounting software Must have the ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines Should have strong problem-solving skills and the ability to make decisions based on accurate and timely analysis.Robert Half is the world’s first and largest specialized talent solutions firm that connects highly qualified job seekers to opportunities at great companies.
