Your work will have real-world impact, and you’ll be supported in achieving your career goals.Location/Division Specific InformationSunnyvale, CA/AIG OperationsHow will you make an impact?We are seeking an energetic Polymer Chemist to join our Resin Synthesis Manufacturing team. The successful candidate will be responsible for producing resin media and performing characterization of the media for Thermo Fisher’s Ion Chromatography portfolio. The individual should have a strong communication, leadership, technical and operational skills to join our dynamic and fast paced team. The candidate will follow SOPs and work in compliance with safety, regulatory and quality guidelines.What you will do:

Synthesize polymer particles using established chemistries

Participate in process optimization, development, and scale-of polymer chemistry processes to improve manufacturing efficiency and product quality.

Perform analytical characterization of polymeric particles using specialty equipment and instrumentation (including ion-chromatography, particle sizing, and surface area instruments)

Analyze data, derive conclusions, document findings, write SOPs and prepare reports

Follow all EH&S safety requirements, participate in safety improvement activities, and carry out to ISO9001 guidelines and corporate quality policy

Participate in cross-functional teams focused on continuous improvement initiatives, including Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and other process improvement methodologies.

How will you get here?EducationBachelor’s degree in Chemistry or equivalent work experienceExperience

Hands on experience in the Chemistry laboratory & wet chemistry.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities

Understanding of polymer chemistry, manufacturing processes, and equipment.

Able to lift the weights up to 40 lbs. and meet all physical demands to work in chemical laboratory

Excellent problem-solving skills with a hands-on approach to troubleshooting.

Ability to summarize and present experimental results

Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.

Knowledge of safety, environmental, and regulatory standards related to chemical manufacturing.

Compensation and BenefitsThe hourly pay range estimated for this position based in California is $27.91–$41.86.This position may also be eligible to receive a variable annual bonus based on company, team, and/or individual performance results in accordance with company policy.
