Description Robert Half is seeking an Attorney with expertise in public administration matters to join our team. The candidate will have a track record of providing sound legal advice in the public sector and will be in charge of promoting compliance with legal procedures, addressing litigations, and drafting various legal documents. This position is contract to hire.Responsibilities:

Represent and defend the government’s interests in courts and before quasi-judicial or administrative agencies of government.

Prepare and review various legal documents such as briefs, appeals, ordinances, regulations, and contracts.

Investigate alleged violations of federal, state, and local laws to determine if enforcement actions are warranted.

Provide counsel, offer legal suggestions, and prepare legal agreements for different departments within the government.

Conduct research and analysis of legal problems and interpret laws, regulations, and rulings.

Communicate and negotiate with internal and external entities such as private attorneys, businesses, and non-government organizations.

Interpret and ensure strict adherence to relevant laws, regulations, and codes.

Stay aware of changes to legislation, particularly with regard to laws applicable to public administration and government.

Conduct public legal educational sessions and workshops as required.

Requirements

Qualifications:

Juris Doctorate (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Licensed to practice law in the given jurisdiction.

A minimum of 5 years of legal experience, preferably within a government agency or public administration field.

Extensive knowledge of the laws, regulations, and rules governing the public sector.

Excellent analytical, negotiation, research, and communication skills.

Ability to interpret and apply complex laws and regulations accurately and effectively.

High ethics and professional integrity.

Strong knowledge of legislative processes.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex concepts to non-legal audiences.
