Sr. Accountant

Description We are in search of a Sr. Accountant to join our team located in AURORA, Colorado. The Sr. Accountant will play a vital role in maintaining the financial health and integrity of our operations by reconciling account balances, preparing financial statements, assessing internal controls, and supervising accounting staff.Responsibilities: Reconcile sub-ledger to general ledger account balances, ensuring accuracy and completeness Prepare financial statements that adhere to standard accounting principles Evaluate internal controls, including risk assessments and reviews of risk areas, to improve operational efficiency Provide support in budget preparation and conduct monthly budget variance analyses Maintain and reconcile fixed assets schedules for accurate reporting and forecasting Assist with initial internal control evaluations to ensure compliance with internal policies and regulations Supervise accounting staff, promoting a collaborative and productive work environment Utilize accounting software such as Microsoft Excel to perform duties such as generating journal entries and assisting with month-end close Use skills in Account Reconciliation, Balance Sheet Reconciliation, and Bank Reconciliations to ensure accuracy in all accounting tasks. Requirements Minimum of 5 years of experience in an accounting role Proficient in Account Reconciliation and Balance Sheet Reconciliation Experience with Bank Reconciliations is mandatory Must have a strong understanding of General Ledger management Able to prepare and analyze Journal Entries Proficiency in Microsoft Excel is required Familiarity with Month End Close procedures is necessary Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is required Certified Public Accountant (CPA) certification is preferred Excellent communication and organizational skills Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
