Reporting to the Financial Analyst and Budget Strategist, you'll provide fiscal, accounting and human resources analysis for the school while collaborating with budget managers across the school and the Leeds budget team. Compile, analyze, and interpret complex financial and HR data.

Prepare weekly, monthly, annual, and ad-hoc customized and standard accounting, budget, salary, and other reports.

Assist with cost allocation and tuition modeling processes and reports.

Assist with the implementation of Leeds' internal annual budgeting process.

Prepare Journal Entries to provide annual budgets to Units and internal transfers among the school.

Prepare and process personnel expense transfers (PETs) and maintain position budgets.

Assist with developing and streamlining reports for budget managers and senior leadership.

Serve as backup for Scholarship Budget Specialist.

Budget Monitoring and Unit Assistance:

Prepare for and participate in annual and ad-hoc budget meetings with Leeds budget managers, and staff weekly budget office hours.

Address questions and inquiries regarding budget matters.

Monitor budgets for over- and under-spending; advise supervisor of potential issues.

Work closely with unit budget managers to maintain accurate forecasting reports and budget projections during the fiscal year.

Assist with the year-end financial close process.

Data Management and Operational Improvement:

Steward and ensure the accuracy of Leeds' financial data.

Set up and maintain Leeds' finance and accounting structure (FOPPS: Fund, Organization, Programs, Projects), generate speedtype setups forms, and inactivate and close speedtypes.

Work closely with Leeds faculty, staff, and leadership to build and maintain a thorough understanding of business needs and practices and provide excellent budget and finance support.

Recommend changes to reporting formats, frequency, and scope to better achieve reporting objectives.

Collaborate with Leeds A/P Team, Leeds Scholarship Coordinator, HR staff, and other OFO units to resolve issues and improve processes.

Support special budget and finance projects as needed.

Leadership and Mentoring:

Coach and mentor new employees or students within this unit.

Build and maintain relationships with external partners.

What You Should KnowThis position offers either a hybrid or fully in-person work modality. If hybrid, the remote/in-person modality will be discussed to best align with the Financial Analyst and Budget Strategist and will require at least three days in the office per week.What We Can OfferThe annual hiring range for this position is $75,100-$78,000. Bachelor's degree and three years of fiscal-related work experience.

A combination of education and experience may substitute.

What You Will Need

Expert proficiency with ad hoc query tools such as Microsoft Excel, with the ability to manipulate large data sets from multiple sources and use macros, formulas, pivots, etc. to summarize and organize it appropriately, succinctly, and accurately.

Proven ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing in both informal and formal settings.

Critical thinking skills and the ability to develop a thorough understanding of Leeds programs, processes, and procedures from both a technical and functional perspective; and the ability to apply this knowledge in real time to solve problems and address questions.

Demonstrated skills in financial and budgetary analysis.

Ability to coordinate, plan, organize and implement accounting and budgetary principles.

Analytical skills including experience with computer office products and software used in financial analysis, gathering data, and preparation of high-quality presentations.

Strong attention to detail and accuracy.

Demonstrable expertise in comparative data analysis, including charting and trending.

Ability to maintain strong working relationships with faculty and staff amidst changing circumstances.

Proven ability to accurately summarize and convey complex key information to appropriate parties.

Ability to independently prioritize relevancy of information as it applies to current tasks.

Ability to interpret complex university policies and procedures, take the initiative to evaluate existing processes and procedures and revise or develop new procedures to increase operational efficiencies.

Excellent time management skills.

Meticulous, organized, and able to manage several priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Ability to take initiative and work independently while successfully working collaboratively.
