These assets include coal, natural gas, propane, and hydroelectric facilities. Effectively coordinating these units' efficient operation and a significant renewable energy portfolio is a significant part of the daily job. A key aspect is leading this large group through the continued evolution of the energy production industry. These changes in our business require new and creative ways of thinking about how we operate and maintain our generating assets.From daily operations to equipment maintenance, to instrumentation and control- this position has significant responsibility. Managing multiple generation facilities consisting of coal, natural gas, hydroelectric, and propane facilities. This includes staffing, budgeting, day-to-day operations, performance, safety, and reporting

Leading and developing Superintendents and Supervisors

Responsible for the performance and professional growth of the workforce through employee mentorship, coaching, and driving continuous improvement of employee training programs in collaboration with safety and health, the corporate university, and subject matter experts across the organization

Participating as a member of the department leadership team in developing strategic plans, policies, and decisions affecting the department and working with Managers in other departments to address and resolve issues, and coordinate projects

Providing leadership, management, and facilitation for division programs, goals, objectives, and daily activities

Developing strategies, policies, and procedures to ensure compliance with environmental permitting regulations Ensures each plant is operated and maintained per regulatory requirements and in compliance with environmental standards.

Overseeing long- / mid- / short-term operating budgets and cash flow projections, including regular performance reporting and variance justification and mitigation. Ensures budgets and projections include all expense contributors of Capital and O&M

Overseeing regular performance reporting and variance explanation and mitigation. Reports on each plant and develops strategies for attaining, maintaining, and improving plant master measures of Equivalent Availability, Peak Equivalent Availability, Equivalent Forced Outage Rate, Heat Rate, Lost Opportunity, Water to Energy Conversion, $/MWHr, environmental regulations, and safety

Promoting a culture of safety and ensures the safe execution of all job functions

Compiling with all safety and health programs in support of an incident and injury-free workplace

Who You Are Most people who are successful in this job offer at least a bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in Engineering, Project Management, Business Management, Construction, or a related field (highly preferred). It is also expected to have years of progressively responsible experience, leading people, strategy, and/or operations, with a proven track record an experience that supports:

Strong development and implementation skills; championing projects in engineering, construction, operations, maintenance, and/or support services

Ability to work through stressful situations with confidence and grace

Ability and desire to leverage technology for effective and efficient utility operations and modernization
