Founded in 1933, the IRC is at work today in more than 40 countries and in 28 U.S. cities. The IRC’s U.S. Programs (USP) department creates opportunities for refugees and other vulnerable migrants to survive and thrive in America. USP serves more than 40,000 individuals each year, including thousands of newly arrived refugees, through a diverse portfolio of programs aimed at achieving outcomes in five impact areas: Health, Safety, Economic Wellbeing, Education, and Power. The IRC works with government bodies, civil society actors and local volunteers to help refugees, asylees and those with Special Immigrant Visas translate their past experiences into assets that are valuable to their new communities. In Denver and other offices across the country, the IRC helps refugees and asylees to rebuild their lives through services and programs that assist with initial resettlement through longer term integration. Presently, these services are case management, employment services, psychosocial support, family stabilization, health coordination, health insurance literacy, family reunification and programs for children and youth. The Denver office also has a legal services program to provide pro bono legal representation to survivors of torture, as well as direct legal services for family-based immigration.INTERNSHIP OVERVIEW: The Supply chain Intern will be responsible for supporting our agency’s Supply Chain & Operations Team with the daily administrative, logistical, and inventory management tasks related to running a professional warehouse dedicated to refugee resettlement.RESPONSIBILITIES:Assist Supply Chain team with receiving, inspecting, recording, shelving, organizing, and distributing warehouse inventoryMaintain warehouse inventory trackerAssist Supply Chain staff with cycle countsTroubleshoot & analyze process flow & efficiencyAssist with purchasing – creating online ordersOrganize, scan and process documentsMonitor team email inbox, respond to staff needs, and maintain communication with staff, vendors, and donorsCollaborate and partner with staff and Operations team to identify, analyze, and implement new or improved processesQualifications REQUIREMENTS:Basic computer skills, especially Microsoft Office products – Outlook, Teams, Excel – or willingness to learnPosition requires extended periods of sitting, walking/standing with some bending, pushing, pulling and stoopingMust possess the ability to lift objects up to 50 poundsSome light cleaning will be requiredAttention to detailGood communications skillsModerate command of EnglishMust be willing to work in a diverse, fast-paced professional environment and be willing to adapt to shifting requirements and prioritiesSUPERVISION: This position reports to the Supply Chain Coordinator, with daily task supervision by the Supply Chain CoordinatorTO APPLY: Interested applicants should submit an online application along with resume and cover letter addressing how your experience and skills meet the internship requirements: https://irc-global.my.salesforce-sites.com/volunteerQualified applicants will be selected for an initial phone screening with the Volunteer Coordinator.QUESTIONS?
