Job Title: Screen Technician

Department: Production / Screen Printing

Reports To: Production Manager / Print Shop Supervisor

Employment Type: Part-Time/Full-Time

Location: Wheat Ridge, CO

Position Summary:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and reliable Screen Technician to join our screen printing team. The Screen Technician is responsible for the preparation, maintenance, and reclaiming of screens used in the screen printing process. This role is essential to ensuring high-quality prints and efficient production workflow.

Key Responsibilities:

Screen Preparation:

Coat screens with emulsion and ensure proper drying.

Expose screens using exposure units and verify accurate image transfer.

Inspect screens for defects or inconsistencies before production.

Screen Reclaiming & Maintenance:

Clean and reclaim used screens (ink removal, emulsion removal, degreasing).

Maintain cleanliness of the screen room and equipment.

Conduct regular inspections for mesh damage, tension issues, or pinholes.

Send to have screens re-meshed or replace screens as needed.

Inventory & Materials:

Monitor inventory levels of emulsions, reclaiming chemicals, and screen supplies.

Properly label and store screens according to job and customer specifications.

Assist in organizing screen storage to ensure efficiency and accessibility.

Quality Control:

Ensure screens meet print standards and are properly aligned and registered.

Work closely with press operators and production staff to troubleshoot any screen-related issues.

Follow safety and quality protocols throughout the screen process.

Qualifications:

Previous experience in screen printing or screen preparation is preferred but not required.

Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.

Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.

Comfortable using basic tools and equipment.

Familiarity with screen printing processes, inks, emulsions, and screen mesh types is a plus.

Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods.

Work Environment:

Screen room/lab and print shop floor.

Exposure to cleaning chemicals and inks (PPE provided).

Noisy, fast-paced production environment.

Schedule & Compensation:

Monday to Friday

$17–$21/hour, depending on experience]
