POSITION: Developmental Disability Waiver RN (Non-Medical)

Job description

Summary

Supervises services and supports being provided to the individual and the performance of the assigned attendant through routine supervisory visits and ensures adherence to the individual service plan (ISP) and other pertinent regulations set forth by the Virginia Department of Health, Department of Medical Assistance Services, Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Services, and other federal and state regulatory bodies.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Performs supervisory visits within the required timeframe.

Reviews the ISP and makes changes as appropriate based on the individual's needs.

Evaluates the effectiveness of home care services by obtaining feedback from the individual and/or the primary caregiver (PCG), and the assigned aide.

Coordinates services with the agency care specialists and DBHDS support coordinator.

Submits assessments and other required documentation outlining the services rendered as indicated promptly.

Participates in interdisciplinary team meetings as scheduled.

Works closely with the individual, family, and support coordinators regarding planned or ongoing services.

Discusses with the Nurse Manager and/or the Director of Nursing any problems concerning the individual or the services and supports being provided to the individual, and develops appropriate and effective solutions.

Assists with or performs referral intake, admission, resumption of care, discharge planning, and other assessment activities.

Cooperates with other agencies providing nursing or related services to provide continuity of care and to implement a comprehensive care plan.

Participates in office meetings and staff development training.

Assists with performance reviews of the attendant and ensures their competency.

Collaborates with other departments based on specific projects assigned.

Adheres to federal, state, and accreditation requirements.

Maintains licensures and/or relevant certifications as required.

Job Type: Full-time

Minimum Job Requirements:

Active, unencumbered RN license in Virginia or multi-compact state

At least one (1) year experience working as a nurse in a clinical or public health setting

Proof of full vaccination against COVID-19

Active professional liability insurance with appropriate coverage

Valid, unexpired driver’s license

Authorization to work in the United States

Negative PPD test or negative chest X-Ray if PPD was positive

Active Basic Life Support Certificate or higher

Other Important Job Requirements:

Good command of the English language, written and spoken (bilingual a plus!)

Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Google apps, and Adobe Acrobat PDF

Experience with electronic health record system

Ability to prioritize tasks with considerable efficiency

Excellent customer service skills

A criminal background check will be conducted once a conditional job offer is given.
