Job Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Project Estimator to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in construction estimating and project management, with the ability to analyze project specifications and develop accurate cost estimates. This role is crucial for ensuring that our projects are completed within budget and on schedule, while maintaining high standards of quality.
Responsibilities
Prepare detailed cost estimates for construction projects by analyzing drawings, specifications, and other documentation.
Utilize software tools such as Bluebeam, Planswift and HeavyBid to create accurate estimates and manage project costs.
Conduct negotiations with subcontractors and suppliers to secure favorable pricing and contract terms.
Collaborate with project managers, architects, and engineers to ensure all aspects of the project are accounted for in the estimates.
Monitor ongoing projects for cost control, identifying any discrepancies between estimated costs and actual expenditures.
Provide support during the bidding process by preparing bid proposals and presenting estimates to clients.
Maintain thorough documentation of all estimates, contracts, and correspondence related to the estimating process.
Stay updated on industry trends, materials, and pricing to ensure competitive bidding.
Qualifications
Proven experience in construction estimating with a strong understanding of construction management principles.
Proficiency in estimating software such as Bluebeam, Planswift and HeavyBid is preferred.
Strong negotiation skills with the ability to build relationships with subcontractors and suppliers.
Familiarity with contracts related to construction projects.
Experience in cost control measures and pricing strategies within the construction industry.
Previous experience working on construction sites is advantageous.
Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail and accuracy in calculations.
Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, for effective collaboration with team members and clients.
