Payments Processing ManagerThe Payments Processing Manager job ensures that the Check & Cash Services department maintains appropriate standards and controls, adheres to applicable regulatory requirements, and meets processing schedules while ensuring that the department operates in a safe and sound manner. This job supervises para-professional employees and ensures compliance with all relevant accounting and control standards within banking operations. This job also sets day-to-day operational objectives for the team and ensures policies, practices and procedures are understood and followed by direct reports.Key Responsibilities and Duties

Supervises, trains, and mentors a team of check processing and lockbox operations staff. Fosters a positive work environment and encourages teamwork and professional development.

Analyzes current check processing procedures and identifies areas for improvement. Implements new technologies and methodologies to enhance efficiency and accuracy.

Develops and updates standard operating procedures (SOPs) to reflect best practices and regulatory changes.

Ensures all processing activities comply with applicable regulations, as well as internal policies. Conducts regular quality assurance oversight to identify potential areas of non-compliance or operational risk.

Liaises with other customer facing business divisions, customer service, IT, and finance to coordinate efforts and resolve issues related to processing. Prepares and presents regular performance reports and metrics to senior management.

Supports the maintenance and upgrading of check processing systems and software. Collaborates with IT to troubleshoot and resolve any technical issues impacting processing. Connects with Trade Association, Vendor, and FRB partners to advance payments processing services and coordination.

Prepares and manages departmental budgets, workforce planning, forecasting, and project expenses.

Manages performance of banking operations team through regular, timely feedback as well as the formal performance review process to ensure delivery of exceptional services and engagement, motivation and development of team.
