Job Summary:
MK Towing & Services LLC is seeking a reliable and professional Tow Truck Driver to join our growing team. As a Tow Truck Driver, you will be responsible for providing towing and roadside assistance services to customers in urgent and sometimes critical situations. You will also assist with transporting heavy equipment, working with our truck parking services, and ensuring customer vehicles and equipment are handled with the utmost care.
Key Responsibilities:
Towing Services: Safely operate light, medium, and heavy-duty tow trucks to provide towing services to customers, including breakdowns, accidents, and impound situations.
Roadside Assistance: Provide assistance to customers with roadside issues such as tire changes, fuel delivery, battery jumps, and lockouts.
Heavy Equipment Transportation: Safely load, secure, and transport heavy equipment to designated locations.
Truck Yard Management: Assist with managing the truck yard, including parking, maintaining a clean and organized yard, and ensuring security for all parked vehicles and equipment.
Customer Service: Communicate professionally with customers, providing timely updates, answering questions, and ensuring customer satisfaction.
Safety Compliance: Adhere to all safety protocols, including the proper use of safety equipment, compliance with local and state traffic laws, and maintaining a clean and operational vehicle.
Equipment Maintenance: Perform regular inspections and basic maintenance of the tow truck to ensure it is in good working condition. Report any issues to management promptly.
Record Keeping: Maintain accurate records of tows, services provided, mileage, create invoices for each job prior to departing with the vehicle and log equipment transported, ensuring all documentation is completed properly and promptly.
Collaboration: Work closely with dispatchers, other drivers, and management to provide efficient and reliable service.
Qualifications:
Valid Driver’s License: Must have a valid clean driver’s license, a commercial driver’s license (CDL) with a clean driving record is preferred but not required.
Residency: Must reside in Polk County as thats the major geolocation serviced. You understand and will comply with MK Towing & Services LLC’s Drug-Free and Alcohol-Free Workplace Policy.
You will need to consent to submit to a background check, drug and alcohol testing as outlined by the DOT and company policy.
Experience: Previous experience in towing, roadside assistance, or heavy equipment transportation required (on-the-job training available).
Physical Fitness: Ability to lift heavy objects, work in various weather conditions, and perform physically demanding tasks.
Strong Communication Skills: Ability to communicate clearly and professionally with customers, dispatchers, and team members.
Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to think on your feet, assess situations quickly, and find safe and efficient solutions.
Attention to Detail: Must be meticulous in maintaining safety standards and completing required documentation.
Flexibility: Willingness to work varying shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays, as towing services are provided 24/7 The role requires driving long distances and handling emergency roadside situations, which may include being on-call during off-hours; as of now there are two mandatory nights on call and every other weekend.
Professionalism: Demonstrates reliability, honesty, and a strong work ethic.
Attire: Wears company provided uniform shirts ensuring that they are clean, taken care of -without rips and drivers must always exhibit company policy’s requirements for proper hygiene.
Working Conditions:
Work is primarily performed outdoors in all weather conditions.
Physical activity is required, including loading and unloading vehicles and equipment.
Compensation:
Pay Rate: Competitive weekly pay based on experience. Base pay + 30% commission greater than base pay after 30 days of employment if you come in with transferable experience if you are brand new to the industry then the commission will be reserved until after you have completed your 60 days.
Taxes: Drivers pay their own employment taxes however they are given $1000 per annum towards covering their taxes and or filing fee.
