DescriptionIntroductionDivision Pharmacy Inventory and Automation SpecialistSchedule: Monday-Friday, business hours but weekends as needed.Location base: Sunrise, Florida Division Office. However, this position supports 14 hospitals and 9+ Free Standing Emergency Departments within our East Florida Supply Chain/Pharmacy division.Travel is required for onsite visits projects (mileage reimbursement available)Are you passionate about the patient experience? Apply Today!Job Summary and QualificationsThe Division Pharmacy Inventory and Automation Specialist is responsible for the management and oversight of all aspects of facility level inventory and automated dispensing cabinets (ADC).

Communicate facility purchasing issues and requests to division and corporate pharmacy resources

Supervises and facilitates facility process to optimize inventory management in the pharmacy and automated dispensing cabinets quarterly

Utilization of metrics to track performance, monitor compliance and drive execution

Assists with design, testing, implementation, maintenance and optimization of automated pharmacy systems at facilities

Participates in the identification and resolution of automation system functionality issues and serves as the division subject matter expert and vendor liaison.

Activities include: investigation of system issues and concerns from pharmacy staff; differentiation between user errors/educational needs vs. system problems; reporting system problems; communication and follow up with system vendor to ensure timely and accurate resolution to issues or concerns.

Makes recommendations using discretion and judgement based on medication utilization patterns at the facility through quarterly audits of standard reports

Perform invoice price audits

Manages and coordinates system maintenance and support, and ensures the dissemination of automation related information to the pharmacy staff at each facility as appropriate

Collects system and/or related processes or facility performance metrics and generates periodic management

EDUCATION

High School Diploma or equivalent Required

Associate or Bachelor degree preferred

EXPERIENCE

At least 3 years of experience as a hospital pharmacy technician Required

At least 3 years of pharmacy automation (preferably with Pyxis vendor) and inventory management experience in hospital pharmacy is Required

Knowledge of pharmacy technician activities and duties including terminology, nomenclature, inventory control, and ADC management Required

CERTIFICATE/LICENSE

Active board certification Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) Required

Registered pharmacy technician, as per State requirements, in good standing with the State Board of Pharmacy Required
