In this pivotal position, you will lead the product data strategy, development, and execution of data solutions for Pearson Higher Education's digital portfolio. We need someone with strong prioritization skills, attention to detail, and a proactive approach, who can take ownership of outcomes and develop not only a broad strategy, but also a community of practice around product data. As a key member of our leadership team, you will be accountable for driving our data strategy, innovating in data solutions, and establishing effective data governance and processes. Experience delivering solutions is highly desirable in this fast-moving, complex, and evolving space.Responsibilities:
Develop and articulate a comprehensive data strategy for the Higher Education portfolio of products and applications aligned with overall business objectives.
Translate requirements of data initiatives into actionable roadmap items.
Champion data literacy within the Higher Education team.
Coach others on data analysis and data science techniques in developing market-leading products and features.
Conduct market research to identify trends, competitor products, and opportunities for innovation.
Build, lead, and mentor a high-performing product management team focused on data solutions.
Foster a collaborative and innovative team culture, promoting continuous improvement and learning.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineering, design, and marketing, to bring new data features and enhancements to market.
Act as a liaison between technical and non-technical teams, ensuring clear communication and understanding of product data requirements.
Define and track key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the success and effectiveness of data initiatives.
Regularly report on product performance, presenting insights and recommendations to senior leadership.
Qualifications:
Data Product Management Experience: At least 7 years of experience in Product Management and Data leadership roles, with a proven track record of successfully leading and launching new products or services
Fluency with Data Analytics Technology: Comprehensive knowledge of data, analytics, telemetry, instrumentation, and tracking technologies and usage in consumer internet and mobile applications.
Expertise in Product Strategy Development: Demonstrated expertise in developing product strategies at the organizational level, including identifying strategic opportunities, assessing market trends, and formulating actionable plans.
Strong Business Acumen: Ability to translate technical concepts into business value, with a keen understanding of market dynamics, commercial value creation, and business models.
Strategic Thinker and Problem-Solver: Proven ability to think strategically, solve complex business problems, and apply novel approaches.
Excellent Communication and Leadership Skills: Exceptional communication and relationship skills, with the ability to effectively convey complex ideas and concepts to diverse stakeholders and customers, foster team collaboration, and proven leadership experience in driving cross-functional teams towards a common goal.
Analytical and Data-Driven Approach: Strong analytical skills and a data-driven mindset, with the ability to leverage data and metrics to inform decision-making and measure the success of AI initiatives.
Continuous Learning and Adaptability: Demonstrated commitment to staying updated on the latest advancements in AI technologies, and the ability to adapt to rapidly evolving industry trends and best practices.
Compensation at Pearson is influenced by a wide array of factors including but not limited to skill set, level of experience, and specific location.
