DescriptionLet’s work together to help disaster impacted communities recover and re-build for future resilience. ICF’s growing Disaster Management division seeks interns to support our project activities. As a Strategic Resilience intern, you will provide support to specific recovery projects and functions for the Division. You will also work alongside project teams, helping state and local clients administer United States Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) and United States Department of Homeland Security Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) funded programs. You will be exposed to a wide variety of experts across the firm including those who address issues related to infrastructure, disaster planning and recovery, financial literacy, energy efficiency, green building, and job training. This is an outstanding opportunity to work with talented and passionate individuals and to grow with a firm that believes in nurturing talent and developing long-term career success.Our 2025 Summer Internship is a 10-week, full-time program that generally begins in early June and concludes in mid-August. The work is hybrid from our Tallahassee, FL office. At this time, we are unable to provide relocation nor housing assistance.Responsibilities:

Provide administrative and technical support to specific hazard mitigation funding and planning projects

Work alongside project teams, helping state and local clients administer FEMA Mitigation-funded programs

Interact with a wide variety of experts across the firm who address issues related to utilities, critical infrastructure, climate planning, finance, and more

Support project teams implementing HUD and FEMA funded programs, helping to refine program procedures and processes for implementation

Research, interpret and apply disaster recovery regulations and policies

Assist in the creation of written reports, policies and procedures, and training materials

Basic Qualifications: 

Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree with an emphasis on Emergency Management, Homeland Security or similar field (with an anticipated graduation of August 2025 or later).

Preferred Qualifications:

Prior experience as an intern focused on Disaster Management, FEMA or related area

Excellent verbal, interpersonal and written communication skills

Experience conducting research, organizing, and analyzing information

Experience writing detailed guidance, proposals, and procedural materials

Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making capabilities

Data-entry experience

Strong time management skills

Proficiency in MS Office Applications (Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Excel)
