Residential Flooring Salesperson

Pay: Commission-based role earning potential of $2,500 - $8,000 a month plus a $500 a month base (Uncapped Commission Plan!)

The In-Home Sales Consultant will be responsible for making product presentations in customers' homes, negotiating, and closing the sale for the installation of flooring. The ideal candidate will have knowledge of tile, LVP, Laminate and hardwood flooring and will be presenting, measuring, estimating, and closing installation projects. Candidates with in-home sales experience from other industries (windows, siding, roofing and bathrooms etc.) would be considered.

To thrive in this role, you’ll need to be self-motivated, work independently, communicate well, and be highly organized. The right individual will play a key part in the expansion of this company and will have the opportunity to grow as the company grows.

Position Summary

Schedule your own availability and our office team will fill your calendar with pre‐qualified, internally generated leads (no cold calls)

Liaise promptly with Customers as needed to manage schedule changes or delays

Attend appointments in customers’ homes and discuss their flooring/bathroom projects. Gain a better understanding of their flooring needs, consulting with them on the best solution given their ideas, lifestyle, needs, and budget. Provide guidance and information as needed. Whilst in the home, provide some ballpark pricing for various options.

After taking in-home measurements, generate a project estimate using our tools and software per job requirements and customer selections. Ideally, provide this estimate whilst in the customer's home so it can be discussed in person with the customer.

Follow up frequently with the customer to ensure they are informed about any specials and have what they need to make a decision, including the availability of credit options

Maintain accurate records through to project completion and close on the provided CRM software

Assist Office Manager/Project Coordinator with ordering products (provide clarification on what needs to be ordered, as needed)

Create work orders for our crew with all the needed information to ensure a successful installation

Communicate customer needs/expectations to the Install Manager to make the installation go smoothly

After the installation, follow up with the customer to request reference pictures and ask for referrals and a 5-star review.

Engage in ongoing training/educational requirements (may involve travel at company expense)

Attend weekly BNI networking meetings to promote Footprint Floors and gather extra leads.

Be motivated by performance-based compensation

Have the ability to sell on value and service in a commodity-driven competitive environment

Have sales experience (experience in the flooring industry is a plus but not required).

Have the ability to work independently

Have excellent organizational and problem-solving skills

Maintain a current, valid Driver's License and proof of automobile insurance

Required to successfully complete a pre-employment background check prior to beginning employment.

Be prepared for daily travel by car in assigned territory with other travel on occasion

Any bilingual language abilities are a plus.
