Mortgage lenders periodically require updates on properties in which they hold a financial interest. To fulfill this need, they dispatch inspectors who perform a range of tasks, including verifying occupancy, assessing general property conditions, delivering or posting letters, conducting interior walk-throughs of vacant properties, and reporting on insurance repair progress.
Most inspections are straightforward exterior checks, though some may involve direct contact through door knocks or letter delivery. Additionally, certain inspections require interior access to secured or vacant properties, as well as scheduled appointments for insurance-related loss assessments.
