Description We are seeking a diligent and detail-oriented Staff Accountant/Accounts Payable professional to join our non-profit organization. This role is primarily focused on managing a high volume of invoices and ensuring the accurate and timely processing of payments. The ideal candidate will have experience with QuickBooks and grant billing, and may take on responsibilities related to grant management.Key Responsibilities:

Accounts Payable Management:

Process and manage a high volume of invoices (approximately 40 invoices weekly).

Coordinate and execute weekly payment requests, including check runs.

Ensure accuracy and timely entry of debits into QuickBooks.

Grant Billing & Management:

Prepare and manage billing for grants, ensuring compliance with grant guidelines.

Assist with grant reporting and may take on responsibility for managing various grants.

Financial Reporting:

Collaborate with the finance team to support monthly financial close processes as needed.

Ensure accurate recording and reconciliation of accounts.

Prioritization & Time Management:

Set and manage priorities to meet deadlines in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.

Ensure that all financial transactions are processed in a timely and efficient manner.

Attention to Detail:

Maintain a high level of accuracy and attention to detail in all financial activities.

Adhere to organizational policies and procedures for all accounting activities.

Requirements

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred.

2+ years of experience in accounts payable, preferably within a non-profit organization.

Proficiency in QuickBooks is required.

Experience with grant billing and management is a strong plus.

Strong time management and organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks.

Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in financial data.

Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
