The DCIS vision is to ensure Microsoft can deploy and operate cloud infrastructure for any offering, at any time, in any location, at any scale. DCIS is a core team that is integral to the planning, development, deployment, and intelligent operations of innovative technologies and offerings such as immersion cooling, the fastest public cloud supercomputers and for customers running their mission critical workloads or providing unique AI offerings such as Azure OpenAI service. The DCIS leadership team deeply believes in Microsoft’s core values of Respect, Integrity & Accountability and each team member lives by Microsoft’s leadership principles to Create Clarity, Generate Energy & Deliver Success.The DCIS Strategy, Automation, Data, and Engineering team is looking for a Senior Technical Program Manager who has a passion for Artificial Intelligence and Software Engineering-focused solutions that delight customers and drive deep impact with business partners. You will partner closely with a breadth of teams across the datacenter space, using your technical, leadership, and communication skills to build and mature the capabilities of our organization. The candidate will have technical depth and breadth, thrives in a globally distributed team environment, has the passion and capability to quickly learn new technologies, and has the ability to speak effectively for both technical and business users as a liaison between teams.In alignment with our Microsoft values, we are committed to cultivating an inclusive work environment for all employees to positively impact our culture every day.

This role is located either in one or all hub locations - Atlanta, GA, Washington, D.C., Redmond, WA, San Antonio, TX or Phoenix, AZ.

Relocation support will be provided, and successful candidates must relocate or reside within 50 miles of the hub office location.

This role is eligible for hybrid or remote work, up to 100%.

Responsibilities

Build, deploy, and support internal prototypes integrating Large Language Models (LLM) and software-centric solutions.

Work with and across teams to plan for scale-up of prototypes to a production-ready state with handoff plans

Develop long-term strategic roadmaps and feature sets aligned to business, customer and stakeholder needs

Create new and support existing solutions and evangelize adoption across and outside the organization

Integrate and collaborate with our partner business and technical teams to work on v-next versions of AI and software driven systems

QualificationsRequired Qualifications:

Bachelor's Degree AND 4+ years' experience in engineering, product/technical program management, or product development

OR equivalent experience.

2+ years' experience managing cross-functional and/or cross-team projects.

4+ years' experience prototyping solutions using a programming language such as Python, Go, C#, or equivalent

4+ years managing work using an agile framework and ticketing system such as Azure DevOps, Atlassian Jira, or similar

1+ year of experience working and integrating solutions with closed and open source large language models (LLMs).

Other Requirements:Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to, the following specialized security screenings: Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.Preferred Qualifications:

Domain knowledge of datacenter operations, server repair, IT, and/or shop floor processes

Demonstrated proficiency with prompt engineering

Knowledge of how LLMs systems work

Familiarity with graph databases, knowledge graphs, retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), and GraphRAG

Demonstrable experience with one or more widely used process improvement methodologies (lean, six sigma, etc)

Experience using data to drive decision-making.

Technical Program Management IC4 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $117,200 - $229,200 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $153,600 - $250,200 per year.Certain roles may be eligible for benefits and other compensation.
