Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Dental Assistant to join our reputable dental practice in Kaimuki. Duties

Assist the dentist during various procedures including general dentistry, prosthodontics, endodontics, and pediatric dentistry.

Prepare treatment rooms with necessary instruments and supplies, ensuring aseptic technique and infection control standards are maintained.

Take and develop dental X-rays while adhering to HIPAA regulations and safety protocols.

Operate EMR systems such as Dentrix to update patient records accurately.

Provide chairside assistance using four-handed dentistry techniques to improve efficiency and patient comfort.

Educate patients on dental procedures, post-treatment care, and oral health maintenance.

Maintain medical documentation including medical records and coding in compliance with HIPAA standards.

Support the dental reception team by scheduling appointments and managing patient flow when needed.

Ensure all clinical areas adhere to infection control protocols and maintain a sterile environment.

Requirements

Proven experience as a Dental Assistant with knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, and infection control practices.

Proficiency with EMR systems such as Dentrix; experience with 3D scanners is a plus.

Ability to perform X-ray procedures safely while maintaining HIPAA compliance.

Familiarity with medical documentation, coding, and medical records management.

Strong understanding of pediatric dentistry, prosthodontics, endodontics, general dentistry procedures, and medical imaging techniques.

Excellent communication skills to effectively educate patients of all ages about their oral health care needs.

Certification in chairside assisting preferred; additional certifications in radiography or pediatrics are advantageous.

Knowledge of aseptic technique, infection control standards, and medical terminology required for clinical excellence.

Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
