Plumber’s Field Assistant / Helper (Part time/Full time)
Job Summary:
Legacy Plumbing Co. is seeking a reliable Field Assistant to ride with our lead plumber, take
notes on job sites, help prepare estimates, assist with scheduling, and provide hands-on
support during daily operations. This role is perfect for someone organized, eager to learn
the plumbing trade, and ready to work in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities:
- Ride alongside the plumber to all job sites
- Take detailed notes during inspections and service calls
- Help write up estimates and job summaries
- Assist with scheduling, customer communication, and updates
- Pass tools, prep job sites, and assist with labor
- Organize and maintain the work truck daily
- Maintain stock of commonly used tools, parts, and fittings
- Understand names and uses of basic plumbing tools
- Provide general support to ensure smooth job flow and efficiency
Requirements:
- Strong organization and note-taking skills
- Comfortable using a phone/tablet for estimates and scheduling
- Reliable transportation to meet at yard or job site
- Willingness to learn plumbing basics
- Able to lift up to 50 lbs
- Good attitude, respectful, and professional with customers
Preferred (but not required):
- Experience in construction or plumbing
- Basic knowledge of plumbing tools and materials
- Prior customer service experience
Compensation:
$18-$19 per hour
