DescriptionThe Logistics/Sales Service Supervisor plans, directs, controls, coordinates and evaluates all logistics and sales service activities (shipping/receiving, turnover, materials handling and internal customer service). The Logistics/Sales Service Supervisor plans and directs the activities of all human and physical resources within the logistics department to achieve proper and quality on-time shipments at the best cost.
Supervises and facilitates the day-to-day shift activities of team. Utilizes knowledge and experience, providing training to team members. Responsible for their individual performance. Oversees scheduling, and material handling issues, as well as resolving logistics problems. Helps team achieve goals and has responsibility for personnel issues, including required discipline
Analyzes trends and data to set standards and expectations on inventory turns, maximum and minimum inventory levels, dock to stock time, inventory accuracy, etc.
Develops reports to monitor productivity and areas of opportunity within the Logistics Department
Writes processes and procedures to support the expectations and implement best practices
Communicates and monitors performance, making adjustments when/where needed
Oversees the team’s activities (Material replenishment, material handling, shipping receiving, etc.)
Utilizes the most reliable and cost-effective freight services
Investigates and resolves logistics issues along with implementing corrective actions
Cross trains employees within the department (Shipping/Receiving/Inventory/Sales Service) by rotating assignments
Works with employees to maintain a safe work environment by following defined safety procedures, encouraging involvement, following up on safety concerns, and modeling proper safe behaviors
Works with Sales Service to ensure that internal customers queries are addressed
Responsible for ensuring that outbound transportation requirements are met in an efficient, effective and timely manner.
Measuring continuous improvements related to logistic performance and efficiency of expenses.
Freight expenses and delivery commitments by TW to our customers.
Determine and maintain the most efficient and economical routing and mode of transportation for all shipments.
Manages the investigation, root cause and remediation into causes of damage/freight claims or shortages in consignment or overcharges for freight or insurance.
Ensuring all records are maintained pertaining to trucks and drivers.
Qualifications:
Associates or Bachelors degree in a related field
Seven to Ten years of experience in materials management, sales or customer service, transportation, or a related field.
Understanding of freight expense and the activity that relates to the expenses.
Experience with compliance for all national and local regulations and rules affecting transportation and safety.
Ability to learn proprietary program (Metalware)
Ability to comprehend concepts of moderate to high difficulty and ability to communicate responses and actions related to these concepts.
Ability to work effectively with Microsoft Office software
