RS Realty Management is actively hiring a Maintenance Technician to round out the team at Properties in Evanston, Des Plaines and Rogers Park in Chicago.
FULL TIME JOB: Works 40 hours a weeks, M-F, 8:30am-5:30pm. THIS POSITION WILL REQUIRE THE TECHNICIAN TO BE ON-CALL after hours and during Weekends.
Maintenance Technicians will be responsible for general upkeep in and around apartment buildings including work order requests, apartment turnovers, repairs, installations, and preventative maintenance.
The Maintenance Technician may also perform heavy manual labor in and around the facility, such as moving, lifting, stocking, or transporting materials.
Our Maintenance Technicians work in collaboration with the rest of the Maintenance Team and perform all related duties as directed by the Property Manager.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE JOB:
Basic carpentry duties including, but not limited to, replacement and repair of interior and exterior doors, windows, deck repair, drywall repair, and painting.
Basic electrical work including, but not limited to, changing bulbs, ballasts, fixtures, replacing switches, outlets, bathroom ventilation fans, replacement of batteries in alarm panels, exit lights, smoke and CO2 detectors, etc.
Basic plumbing work including, but not limited to, backups or leaking drains and toilets, replacement of faucets and garbage disposals, hot water tank installation, etc.
Appliances: installation, troubleshooting, repair, and replacement of major components such as motors, pumps, circuit boards, belts, filters, ignitors, etc.
HVAC: routine maintenance and repairs, installation of thermostats, troubleshooting, and replacement of ignitors, sensor, and motors.
Safety: assesses and considers the safety of community residents and staff in performing tasks.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Multi-family property maintenance: 1 year (REQUIRED) Preferred to live close to Evanston. MUST have a valid driver's license and a driving vehicle. Techs are not required to bring their own tools.
HVAC certification (preferred). HVAC certification is required to earn the upper end of the posted pay scale.
