This position provides a unique opportunity to analyze samples from across R&D, Pilot Plants, and commercial refineries around the world.The successful candidate will play a crucial role in our research and development efforts, with a specific focus on elemental analysis by X-Ray Fluorescence (XRF) and Inductively Coupled Plasma Spectroscopy (ICP).RESPONSIBILITIES

Conduct routine and specialized chemical analyses using ED-XRF, WD-XRF and ICP-OES.

Develop and optimize analytical methods for the identification and quantification of elements in catalyst, oils and adsorbents.

Prepare standard materials for calibration across several laboratories.

Maintain and troubleshoot analytical instruments, including XRF, ICP and sample prep equipment.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support research projects.

Document experimental procedures, results, and observations accurately.

Stay informed about industry trends and advancements in elemental analysis.

The annual base salary range for this position is $74,100-$92,600. Please note that this salary information serves as a general guideline. Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in a technical discipline such as the sciences, technology, engineering or mathematics.

WE VALUE

Degree in Chemistry or related discipline (Biochemistry, Biology, etc).

Experience with other spectroscopy techniques like UV-VIS and AA.

Proficiency in method development and validation.

Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.

Excellent problem-solving abilities.

Familiarity with laboratory safety protocols.

Effective communication and teamwork skills.

Knowledge of UOP materials and processes and associated analytical methods.
