As the Senior Director - Environmental Health & Safety, you will be responsible for developing and leading the strategic direction of all global Health and Safety programs to ensure compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and standards. You will work closely with executive leadership, operational teams, and regional Health and Safety managers to promote a culture of safety across the organization.Responsibilities:
Develop and execute a comprehensive global Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) strategy aligned with the company’s vision, mission, and values
Lead the EHS team, providing guidance, support, and professional development opportunities
Collaborate with senior management to integrate EHS objectives into overall business strategy
Establish, implement, and continuously improve global EHS policies, programs, and practices
Ensure all operations comply with international, national, and local EHS regulations and standards
Monitor, analyze, and report on EHS performance metrics across the organization and to executive leadership
Develop and implement risk mitigation strategies to minimize workplace hazards
Oversee thorough investigations of incidents, including root cause analysis and implementation of corrective actions
Ensure robust emergency response and crisis management plans are in place and regularly tested
Lead the development and execution of risk assessment and mitigation strategies to manage workplace hazards and environmental risks
Partner with Learning and Development (L&D) to design comprehensive training programs to employees at all levels to foster a culture of safety
Ensure continuous education and training on EHS regulations and best practices
Serve as the primary EHS liaison with regulatory agencies, industry groups, and community organizations
Engage with internal and external stakeholders to promote transparency and accountability in EHS matters
Qualifications:
Bachelors Degree - Occupational Health and Safety or related scientific or technical field required; Masters Degree preferred
Licenses/Certificates/Designations – Certified Safety Professional (CSP), Associate Safety Professional (ASP), or Certified Hazardous Materials Manager (CHMM)
12 years managing teams or projects focused on Global health and safety
7 years of subject matter expertise or credentials (CSP, ASP, CHMM)
Experience standing up a global health and safety program, preferably in a distribution industry preferred
Ability to travel 25% - 50%
