Reporting to the Vice President for Business Services and Finance CFO , the Executive Director provides leadership to the institutional processes associated with the overall planning, funding, design, construction, operation and maintenance of an expanding portfolio of college facilities, in support of the College’s mission and strategic plan. The Executive Director is responsible for overall administration of the college’s property and land assets, facilities strategic planning, campus master plan, capital planning, facility design, facilities maintenance and operations, sustainability and energy management, motor pool, capital and construction project management and continuous improvement of facilities. The Executive Director provides direction to facilities operations, and auxiliary operations, including long-term planning and fiscal management.The Executive Director works cooperatively and collaboratively with various College units, divisions and departments, the College Leadership Team, students, faculty and staff. This position requires high level business acumen, collaborative leadership, and organizational and communications skills.Required Qualification(s)
A bachelor’s degree from an accredited higher education institution with a major in architecture, construction management, engineering, planning, business or a related field
A minimum of ten (10) years of professional experience in facilities management, business operations or a field directly related to this position
A minimum of five (5) years of recent supervisory experience
Project Management Professional ( PMP ) Certification within two years of employment.
Demonstrated ability to read blueprints (Civil, Structural, Architectural, Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing, Life Safety, Landscape, etc.)
Demonstrated ability to successfully manage multi-million dollar operating and capital budgets
Demonstrated excellent organizational and project management skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
Possess strong critical thinking, analytical and problem-solving skills and acumen.
Demonstrated abilities as an effective and exceptionally skilled communicator, specifically as it relates to verbal, written communication, and active listening.
Demonstrated strong personal integrity, ability to form effective partnerships, ability to collaborate with others and work in a team environment consistent with the College of Lake County values.
Demonstrated success using inquiry and evidence to inform decision-making, short- and long-term planning.

Desired Qualification(s)
License as an Architect or Professional Engineer
Project Management Professional ( PMP ) Certification.
Knowledge of Computer Aided Design (AutoCad 2020)
Experience working for a post-secondary education institution
Master’s degree in Architecture, Engineering, Planning, or Construction Management
Knowledge of Illinois Compiled Statutes and Community College Act related to procurement and construction.
Knowledge of building codes. ( IBC , NFPA , ADA , IECC , Illinois Plumbing Code).
Knowledge of AIA Contracts.
Professional Certification in Project Management
Bilingual Spanish and English

Planning, Operations and Financial Management-30%
Develop and implement short- and long-term plans for managing facilities, focusing on capital renewal, operational efficiency, and environmental initiatives.
Establish and monitor interdepartmental and cross-departmental/unit standard processes, workflow and meeting structures to ensure effective, efficient and high-quality outcomes.
Manage daily operations encompassing campus physical plants, maintenance, non-capital construction, custodial services, fleet management, grounds, and renovation projects to align with institutional goals.
Oversee departmental budgets, ensuring fiscal responsibility.
Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations related to building codes, environmental standards, and safety regulations.
Maintain high standards of campus and emergency preparedness safety.
Utilize advanced technology systems for efficient operations and management of facilities assets.
Implement and oversee building management and automation systems.
Lead projects, ensuring adherence to quality and performance standards.
Evaluate and manage contracts with external contractors and service providers.
Champion sustainability and energy efficiency initiatives across campus facilities.
