Position Summary:
This position manages the overall operations for nursing services and patient care which includes an In-Center and Home Dialysis centers. Including but not limited to, financial management, quality assurance and patient care, safety, risk Management, staff satisfaction, quality outcomes, facility maintenance, and other required duties that may arise during the general operations of the facilities. This position assures the safe nursing management of the End Stage Renal Disease patient (ESRD). To coordinate the day to day work flow of the department to meet patient care needs. This role is to focus on nursing process, physician communication, patient flow, team member competence, resource utilization and patient/family/physician and team member satisfaction. The Manager will function as a member of the Dialysis leadership team.
Qualifications:
EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor's Degree in Nursing
CERTIFICATION/LICENSURE REQUIREMENTS
Licensed Registered Nurse, IL. upon hire
Basic Life Support (BLS)
EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
1 year RN experience preferred
6 months dialysis experience preferred
Demonstrated excellence in patient care and interpersonal skills with both patients/families and colleagues
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS
Use of usual and customary equipment used to perform essential functions of the position.
Work may occasionally require travel to other facilities/hospitals.
SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE

Essential Functions:
Plays a pivotal role in interdisciplinary oversight of quality patient care on unit.
Reports all issues or concerns to the Director.
Provides work direction for nursing, technical, office and biomedical staff members
Ensures that patient care outcomes are clearly communicated to unit team members
Meets monthly with the interdisciplinary team
Reviews clinical outcomes, water culture results, staffing, and any other facility issues
Develops action plans and ensure resolution of issues
Serves as resource to others in using patient outcomes and/or core measure indicators
Organizes plan of care and care delivery methods.
Oversees nursing and technical services for patient treatment
Ensures appropriate adjustments in treatment plans are developed and implemented
Meets compliance with state and federal governing agencies
Ensures development and implementation of policies, procedures and resources
Ensures safe, appropriate treatment of patients
Develops rapport with patients and manage patient concerns appropriately
Assists team to incorporate research and best practices in patient care into their individual practice.
Monitors current patient care practices and is alert to areas of improvement.
Utilizes best practices/research in areas of opportunity.
Successfully manages clinical crisis situations
Leads meetings for employee experience goals and leads service recovery activities.
Participates in gathering data on initiatives, including chart review.
Assists in unit specific processes to achieve best practices.
Participates and investigates to determine root causes
Participates in developing, implementing, and evaluating action plans
Develops a schedule that meets staffing needs
Utilizes effective communication skills in interactions with team members, patients, visitors and physicians.
Ensures compliance with policies and procedures in accordance with State and Federal Regulations for:
patient care and services (HIPPA, CMS, OSHA, or other governing agencies)
Ensures compliance with State or Federal Regulations of the Injury Prevention and Safety Training.
Assists with the creation and implementation of any corrective action needed as a result of quality improvement plan as required by Medicare, OSHA or other governing agencies
Reports or documents all staff member injuries according to established policy and procedures
Participates in quality improvement programs with interdisciplinary team Facility/Equipment Management
Ensures equipment and supplies are maintained
Provides quality care and to ensure the safety of patients and staff members
Identifies and plans prompt corrective action for any issues with building safety or equipment and systems
Participates in the development and periodic revision of policies and procedures
Assure consistent, efficient and safe operation of the facility
Participates in budget formulation and review concerning personnel and scheduling needs with patient load.
Supervises inventory management, including purchasing, product selection and supply usage
Reviews and approves of all staff members time for payroll
Ensures patient and treatment charge information and other related data are accurate and entered timely into the clinical EMR.
Continues professional development and involvement in professional activities that enhance nursing practice
Shares knowledge through networking and research.
Demonstrates knowledge that patient and workplace safety is a priority
Prevents errors, accidents and infections and reporting potential or actual concerns immediately.
Serves as a key resource in identifying staffing changes such as unit activity, patient acuity, and other key staffing changes (orientation/training)
