Description We are offering a contract to hire employment opportunity for a dedicated Bookkeeper in Indianapolis, Indiana. The successful candidate will be responsible for a range of financial tasks, from processing credit applications to maintaining customer credit records. The job function will be on-site and will require proficiency in QuickBooks and MS office, among other skills.Responsibilities: Processing customer credit applications with accuracy and efficiency Maintaining accurate and up-to-date customer credit records Resolving customer credit inquiries in a timely and professional manner Monitoring customer credit accounts and taking appropriate action to collect delinquent payments Handling Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable tasks Performing monthly reporting activities Conducting bank reconciliations and account reconciliations Performing data entry tasks as required Utilizing Microsoft Excel for financial tracking and reporting Conducting bookkeeping tasks as required, including possible ledger work Assisting in month-end close procedures Handling payroll responsibilities as needed. Requirements Proficiency in Bookkeeping and knowledge of standard accounting principles Experience in Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) management Familiarity with Bank Reconciliations and Account Reconciliation Strong Data Entry skills and attention to detail Proficiency in using Microsoft Excel for financial tasks and reporting Experience with Month End Close processes and procedures Knowledge of Payroll processing and related tax procedures Proficiency in using QuickBooks or similar accounting software Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise discretion in handling sensitive financial information Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work under pressure.
