Description Robert Half is partnered with an esteemed company in Ames to hire a detailed-oriented, trustworthy Accounts Payable Specialist to their accounting team. The successful candidate will be primarily responsible for the processing and recording of all accounts payable transactions while adhering to the company's policy and auditing requirements. This role requires strong collaboration and communication abilities. This opportunity is a long-term temporary position located on-site in Ames, Iowa.Responsibilities:
Manage and organize all transaction documents such as invoices, proofs of receipt, and purchase orders.
Process invoices, ensuring accuracy with purchase orders and pricing.
Coordinate with vendors regarding invoicing and payment inquiries and discrepancies.
Track expenses, process expense reports, and assist with payment processing.
Prepare monthly, quarterly, and yearly accruals and supporting schedules.
Perform monthly reconciliation of all payable accounts.
Assure credit is received for outstanding memos.
Preserve a digital and physical archive of financial data.
Contribute to the improvement of the company's payment process.
Requirements
Qualifications:
An Associate's degree in Finance or Accounting, preferred
2+ years experience in an accounts payable or general accounting role, preferred
Knowledge of accounts payable, general accounting procedures, and relevant accounting software
Proficient in Microsoft Excel
Excellent communication, problem-solving, and analytical skills
Attention to detail and accuracy
Ability to maintain confidentiality
