All usage of the in-licensed or externally acquired material is subject to significant contractual obligations. Compliance with those contractual obligations is a condition of doing business and critical to maintain our freedom to operate.This position is a member of the Global Stewardship Intellectual Property (IP) Compliance team, which has responsibility to design, develop and deploy what we call GUS (Genetic Utilization System). GUS is an integrated system that provides real-time IP and contractual compliance information for biotech events, germplasm, genetic elements, and technologies directly to Researchers in order to inform and enable successful product development and delivery.The Analyst will develop and implement IP and contract compliance related rules to enable Research activities to proceed with confidence. In this role, you will work with stakeholders in Research, Platform, and Legal groups to collect IP information and documentation; support an extensive database of IP compliance information; and support all seed research activities throughout Corteva Agriscience™ by providing IP compliance information for in-licensed or externally acquired biotech events, germplasm, genetic elements, and technologies to enable research planning and successful product development and delivery.What You'll Do:Genetic Utilization System (GUS):

Responsible for reviewing IP Compliance warnings generated by Genetic Utilization System (GUS) and partner with Research, Strategic Agreements & Compliance, Legal and Technology Transfer & Licensing as needed to address and resolve the warnings.

Develop and implement GUS rules for new and amended agreements for all crops, globally. Review and update existing GUS rules when there are changes in how agreement terms are interpreted. Includes contracts for the purchase of commercial and public material from sources such as the USDA.

Collaborate with Research and Legal to manage and interpret germplasm and trait agreements and business decisions, summarize results, and load compliance information into the GUS rules database.

Compliance:

Provide summarized IP and agreement compliance information to scientists and other researchers as needed for their decision-making processes.

Identify and address business process changes being made or that are needed to ensure the sustainability of the IP compliance system.

Best Practices & Collaboration:

Engages and collaborates with the IPC team and extended stakeholders to understand needs and gain insight into their needs, expectations, and concerns. Works to identify and share best practices in support of organizational compliance efforts.

QualificationsWhat Skills You Need:

Bachelor's degree and 3-5 years of experience in an analytical role that required problem-solving and customer service type of interaction required.

Degree in plant biology, molecular biology, biotechnology, genetics, or a related discipline preferred, however other relevant education with significant experience leading technical projects will be considered.

Proficiency in working with computer applications, using a wide range of computer tools.

High level of detail-orientation and ability to develop and implement stepwise protocols.

Excellent interpersonal skills with confidence and awareness needed to interact with people at all levels within Corteva Agriscience, collaborators from different departments, cultures, and geographies.

Ability to lead independent work on multiple projects with minimal supervision.

Experience with research processes used in germplasm development and/or biotechnology preferred.
