Supplemental InformationT he Louisiana Department of Revenue (LDR) is responsible for fairly and efficiently collecting state tax revenues to fund public services, to regulate charitable gaming and the sale of alcoholic beverage and tobacco, and to support state agencies in the collection of overdue debts. Collectively, each program, unit, division and group work together to provide the core services to taxpayers of the State of Louisiana and stakeholders of the agency. LDR is comprised of the following groups: Tax Collection, Charitable Gaming, Alcohol and Tobacco Control (ATC), Debt Recovery, Louisiana Tax Free Shopping Commission.ABOUT THIS POSITION: This position will serve as the administrative assistant to the Commissioner of the Louisiana Office of Alcohol and Tobacco Control. The Office of Alcohol & Tobacco Control (ATC) is responsible for overseeing the alcoholic and tobacco industries within the state. The office is comprised of four divisions: Administrative, Business, Legal and Enforcement. All areas of the agency are tasked with providing the highest level of customer service to the citizens of the great State of Louisiana.Duties include, but are not limited to:

Handles numerous administrative matters that include contact with the Governor's Office, Legislators, high-level government officials, and department management employees.

Compose, type, proof, and edit highly sensitive and confidential correspondence and reports on behalf of the Commissioner of the Louisiana Office of Alcohol and Tobacco Control.

Act as liaison between the Commissioner and staff as needed.

Prepares and/or reviews correspondence informing departmental staff of executive decisions and matters of policy.

Receives telephone calls related to varied and confidential issues and independently determines the appropriate action to be taken.

Performs other duties as directed by executive management staff.

NOTE: Business or technical school training with less than completion will only be credited in six month increments. Similarly, college training will only be credited in 15 semester hour increments. NOTE: Any college hours or degree must be from an accredited college or university. Employees perform duties independently and exercise a high degree of independent judgment and initiative in determining the approach/action to take in non-routine situations. LEVEL OF WORK:Advanced. SUPERVISION RECEIVED:General from a high-level classified/unclassified executive. SUPERVISION EXERCISED:May supervise 1-2 lower-level personnel. LOCATION OF WORK:May be used by all state agencies. JOB DISTINCTIONS:Differs from Administrative Assistant 5 by the presence of serving as the confidential executive assistant to the unclassified Secretary, Deputy Secretary, Undersecretary, Assistant Secretary, or equivalent high-level classified/unclassified executive of a state department. Examples of WorkRelieves the Secretary, Deputy Secretary, Undersecretary, Assistant Secretary, or equivalent high-level classified/unclassified executive of a variety of administrative matters by assuming delegated authority in assigned areas. Performs and supervises administrative support activities such as maintaining files and central records, printing and duplicating services, security, purchasing of supplies and equipment, warehousing, and preparation of payroll and personnel records. Serves as executive support. Reviews correspondence and receives telephone calls related to the most sensitive and confidential matters and determines appropriate action to be taken. Interprets departmental policies and procedures for staff members and the general public. Conducts and/or supervises special projects, such as organizing charity drives or coordinating facility maintenance. Collects and compiles budgetary data for monitoring funds and staffing levels. Prepares materials needed for meetings, such as agendas, handouts, binders, etc. May attend meetings and transcribe minutes. R.S.15:587.5, 587.6 and the IRS require the Louisiana Department of Revenue ("LDR") to conduct a criminal history records check of a prospective employee who will access federal tax information to perform his job duties.
