Services is available here .Duties/Responsibilities: 90% Operates power driven drawbridge(s), ensuring the safe operation consistent with applicable Coast Guard regulations and DOTD policies. Examples of bridges operated are Electrical Vertical Lift, Hydraulic or Electrical Bascule, Hydraulic or Electrical Double Bascule, Hydraulic or Electrical Swing, and Pontoon. Trains lower-level bridge operators in the operation of the bridge(s) and in all other related duties. Prepares bridge logs, documenting bridge openings and closings in response to marine vessel signals. Uses the marine radio to communicate with vessel operators. Conducts visual inspection of bridge(s) to ensure safe operation. Reports mechanical or electrical problems to appropriate personnel and/or takes necessary corrective action. 5% Lubricates operating machinery. Checks fluids and changes oil in emergency generators. Collects information and prepares reports to document marine and vehicular collisions and damages. Cleans the interior of the bridge house; maintains grounds area surrounding the bridge house. 5% May be required to perform other duties as necessary including, but not limited to, emergency/disaster support activities.
