Job Title: Unified Communications Technician/Net Ops Specialist Location: Fort JohnsonJob Code: DCWF-441Clearance Required: SecretCompliance Required: DOD 8140Job Summary: The Unified Communications Technician/Net Ops Specialist will be responsible for managing and maintaining the unified communications infrastructure at Fort Johnson. This includes supporting voice, video, and messaging systems, ensuring reliable operation, and providing technical support for end-users. The role requires expertise in network operations, troubleshooting, and system integration.Key Responsibilities:

Unified Communications Management:

Administer and support unified communications systems including VoIP, video conferencing, and messaging platforms.

Monitor system performance and perform regular maintenance to ensure optimal functionality.

Implement and manage system updates, patches, and upgrades.

Network Operations:

Manage network infrastructure related to unified communications, including switches, routers, and firewalls.

Troubleshoot and resolve network issues impacting unified communications services.

Ensure the secure and efficient operation of network systems in accordance with DOD requirements.

Technical Support:

Provide tier-2 and tier-3 technical support for end-users experiencing issues with unified communications systems.

Develop and maintain documentation related to system configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting guides.

System Integration and Implementation:

Assist in the planning and implementation of new unified communications technologies and solutions.

Coordinate with vendors and other IT teams to integrate new systems and technologies.

Security and Compliance:

Ensure all unified communications systems comply with security policies and procedures.

Conduct regular security assessments and vulnerability scans of the unified communications infrastructure.

Qualifications:

Education:

Associate's degree in Information Technology, Network Engineering, or a related field; or equivalent work experience.

Experience:

Minimum of 3 years of experience in unified communications or network operations roles.

Proven experience with VoIP, video conferencing, and messaging systems.

Hands-on experience with network equipment and protocols.

Certifications:

Required: DOD 8140 compliant certification(s) (e.g., CompTIA Network+, Cisco CCNA).

Preferred: Certifications in unified communications technologies (e.g., Microsoft Teams, Cisco Unified Communications).

Skills:

Strong technical troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.

Proficiency in network management tools and techniques.

Excellent communication and customer service skills.

Additional Requirements:

Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Must possess a Secret clearance and meet DOD 8140 compliance requirements
