Material Handler

Responsibilities include Proper storage and movement of all containers, raw materials, and component parts used in the manufacturing process and packing and inspection of finished goods.GENERAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:Collection of finished goods from the manufacturing line and forwarding to packaging and/or inspection as required.Proper FIFO of raw materials and component parts.Assist with box building as needed.Assist with trash and scrap removal as needed.Placement of raw material and component parts to the manufacturing line as required. (Loaders, Assembled parts, etc.)Placement of packaging, returning or corrugated, to the manufacturing line as required.Proper use of all fork trucks and pallet jacks.Maintain timely and accurate material daily logs.Complete and turn in daily Forklift inspections.Other duties as assigned by the Warehouse Coordinator.KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS REQUIRED:General education.Good verbal and written communication skills.Valid fork truck license.Able to work at a quick pace.Personal computer skills preferred. Must have a valid current state issued driver's licensePHYSICAL DEMANDS:Must be able to mount and operate forklift and motor vehicle. Good eye/hand/foot coordination. Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. on occasion. Job consists of good range of motion involving prolonged walking, bending, reaching, stooping and standing. Knowledge of chemicals specific to job-some exposure to fumes. Some telephone usage required. MENTAL/VISUAL:Good eye/hand/foot coordination required. Must be able to operate computer, scanner equipment, stretch wrapper, weight scales and forklift truck. Good math skills required for inventory control. Basic office machine use involved.WORKING CONDITIONS:Will be required to work in plant - factory environment where there is some exposure to noise, dust, glass fibers, fumes and heat. Must adhere to PPE requirements as defined in the safety manual when in the manufacturing area.
