Job Family :Scientific Research & Analysis (Digital)Travel Required :NoneClearance Required :Ability to Obtain Public TrustWhat You Will Do :We are currently searching for a laboratory technician to independently provide support services for the preclinical work and correlative studies of clinical protocols at the Laboratory of Transplantation Immunotherapy at NHLBI, NIH. This is a full-time, on-site opportunity in Bethesda, MD.

Pipetting, centrifugation, buffer preparation, handling blood and biological materials

Plasma and PBMCs preparation from whole blood and cryopreservation.

DNA/RNA isolation from whole blood and tissue.

Maintain laboratory logs pertaining to clinical samples.

Regular maintenance of freezers and lab equipment.

Manage the inventory, procure laboratory supplies, reagents, and equipment whenever the need arises.

Assist in developing novel assays and methodologies to support fundamental and translational research.

Prepare reports using MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint etc. and present data to principal investigator, supervisors, lab members, and collaborators.

Comply with institution’s rules and regulations, such as laboratory safety and waste disposal methods, institutional review board protocols, environmental health, and safety.

What You Will Need :

Bachelor’s Degree

A Minimum of TWO (2) years of laboratory experience.

Ability to perform Flowcytometry based experiments and Western blot.

Experience with cell culture and PCR techniques

Ability to use microscopes, cell counters, and other high-precision lab equipment.

What Would Be Nice To Have :

Experience in disciplines relating to hematology, biochemistry, immunology, or molecular biology, preferred.

Strong interpersonal skills and an ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships.

Excellent oral and written communication skills including the ability to analyze scientific data and present to groups for peer review.
