Job Overview:
As an Auto Body Takedown/Reassemble Technician, you will play a vital role in our repair process by efficiently and accurately disassembling vehicles for repairs and reassembling them once the necessary work is completed. You will be responsible for ensuring that all components are properly removed, safely stored, and then reinstalled to the highest standards. Attention to detail, mechanical aptitude, and a commitment to quality are essential for success in this role.
Responsibilities:
- Efficiently and accurately disassemble vehicles according to repair orders and industry standards, ensuring all parts and components are labeled and organized for easy reassembly.
- Carefully remove and store all panels, trim, glass, mechanical components, and electrical parts, ensuring they are protected from damage.
- Inspect and document any hidden damage, ensuring that all necessary repairs are identified and communicated to the appropriate personnel.
- Communicate effectively with the estimating team to report any additional repairs or parts required during the takedown process.
- Coordinate with other technicians to ensure a smooth workflow, sharing information and collaborating on repair strategies.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, following safety guidelines and keeping tools and equipment in good working order.
- Reassemble vehicles accurately and efficiently, ensuring all parts fit correctly, and all mechanical and electrical systems are properly connected.
- Conduct final inspections to verify the completeness and quality of the reassembly, making any necessary adjustments or corrections.
- Adhere to company policies and procedures, as well as industry regulations and safety standards.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Proven experience as an Auto Body Takedown/Reassemble Technician or a similar role in an automotive repair environment.
- Strong knowledge of automotive components, systems, and repair techniques.
- Proficiency in using hand and power tools, as well as specialized equipment for disassembly and reassembly.
- Excellent attention to detail and the ability to follow instructions accurately.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to adapt to changing repair requirements.
- Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a team.
- Solid understanding of industry safety practices and a commitment to maintaining a safe work environment.
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
