Private island off of Woods Hole seeks a full-time year-round deckhand.
Assist in the operation and maintenance of the vessels, equipment and facilities of the department including fuel farm and solar plant support.
This position reports to captain on duty in the ferry department. Works in all types of weather and the candidate must be able to follow directions and work both independently and with others. This position is required to live on island and also be part of our maritime consortium and pass USCG mandated drug and alcohol testing throughout employment. Note: Federal drug test includes marijuana.
The position comes with an unfurnished one-bedroom apartment that includes heat, electricity, telephone and internet.
40 hours per week , four -10 hour work days, requires living on premises. Benefits include company contributions to Medical and Dental insurance, paid vacation, sick time and personal days. , 401k after 1 year
