For questions about this role, email [email protected] .Purpose:As an Accommodations Coordinator You will manage the accommodations program for Ross students requiring special assistance, and organizing and supervising proctoring services for exams and assessments. You will ensure compliance with relevant policies and provide support to individuals requiring accommodations. ResponsibilitiesAccommodations Coordinator (40%)
Provide strategic management, planning, training and operation of the school's accommodations program.
Coordinate and help implement accommodations in collaboration with multiple departments, including academic, HR, and facilities management.
You will be a primary contact for all inquiries related to accommodations and proctoring, providing excellent customer service. Communicate directly with students regarding how their accommodations will be met, troubleshooting any unusual needs.
Develop relationships with main internal and external partners, which includes serving as the school's subject matter expert to manage a comprehensive plan for accommodations, testing rooms and other arrangements for all quizzes and exams throughout the academic year.
Regulatory Knowledge and Compliance (10%)
You will maintain accurate and confidential records of accommodation requests, approvals, and implementations and maintain appropriate procedures.
Communicate with faculty, staff, and students about procedures.
Partner with UM Services for Students with Disabilities to ensure Ross' approach to accommodations continues to be compliant.
Ensure adherence to legal requirements, such as ADA (Americans with Disabilities Act) or Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act, and institutional policies regarding accommodations.
Evaluate processes to improve systems, including IT management tools.
Set and honor deadlines for compliance with legal guidelines.
Support Students with Disabilities (10%)
Recognize signs of anxiety, depression, as well as other mental health concerns, to take appropriate action by providing support, and referring the individual to professional resources or services if necessary.
Answer faculty questions concerning appropriate approaches to working with students needing accommodations.
Respond to student inquiries, conflicts, and medical needs and make decisions on temporary accommodation needs for students.
Proctor Coordination (40%)
Interview, hire, and mentor proctors for all exams (accommodations, regular, and conflict), and serve as supervisor for proctors.
Plan and direct Proctor's work and appraise their performance, including taking disciplinary action.
Develop and deliver training programs for proctors on best practice, ensuring adherence to established procedures and maintaining the integrity of the examination process.
Schedule and organize proctoring services for exams and assessments, ensuring that all necessary resources and accommodations are in place.
Plan for and manage the Proctor budget, keeping leadership informed of costs and procedural changes of program.
Required Qualifications
An Associate degree and 4+ years of relevant experience in fields such as higher education, special education, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Experience working with students in an academic setting.
Comprehension of financial principles and its application following best practice.
Demonstrated expertise in managing programs.

This posting range reflects multiple factors involved in determining compensation, such as skills, experience, training, certifications, and other organizational needs. At Ross, it is not common for new hires to be offered a salary at the upper end of the range .
