The ideal candidate will possess cross-cutting interests in teaching topical courses aligned with Latina/o/x studies and employ a multidisciplinary approach that situates Latina/o/x studies in a discipline (literature, history, visual studies, migration, etc.) or interdisciplinary field (gender and sexuality studies, American studies, race studies, new media, digital studies, etc.) to produce original and innovative scholarly insights. The search committee will consider scholars who incorporate comparative and transnational frameworks in relation to the U.S. and its influences within/outside the nation-state directly related to Latina/o/x subjects, their communities, cultural productions, histories, or imaginaries.
