About the unitThis is Neuro Surgery focused Medical Surgical floor that was established in 3/2018. Our patients include the post-operative surgical patients related to Spine and Ortho Spine, C- Spine, Lumbar and Thoracic Spine surgeries, as well as patients staying for Extended recovery after general out-patient surgical procedures. The Medical patient population includes, Mental Status changes, Seizures, GI bleed, Pneumonia. Stroke, Polydrug Abuse, ETOH Abuse on CIWA pathways, Psychiatric patients, Palliative Care, hospice, Multiple Sclerosis, Isolation patients and patients with other infections and Complex family issues. The unit has 8 telemetry beds to monitor patients with suspected cardiac involvement. The RN provides quality patient care under the direction of the Nurse Leader according to Corewell Health policies and procedures and recognizes the impact of nursing care and patient/family partnerships on patient outcomes. Qualifications
Associates in Nursing Required
Bachelors in Nursing Required within 5 years
Graduates from a non-accredited school of nursing must have at least one year of acute care experience or at least two years of experience in a licensed health care role and must have successfully passed the NCLEX licensure examination.
MI Registered Nurse (RN) Required
AHA or ARC Basic Life Support (BLS) Required within 90 days
Specialty Certification highly recommended within 2 years
