Directs the department's activities and resources to achieve departmental and organizational objectives.Develops and implements departmental goals, plans, and standards consistent with the clinical, administrative, legal, and ethical requirements/objectives of the organization.Directs and evaluates departmental operations, including patient care delivery, information technologies, service level determination, and complaint management, to achieve performance and quality control objectives.Plans and monitors staffing activities, including hiring, orienting, evaluating, disciplinary actions, and continuing education initiatives.Prepares, monitors, and evaluates departmental budgets, and ensures that the department operates in compliance with allocated funding. Coordinates and directs internal/external audits.Creates and fosters an environment that encourages professional growth.Integrates evidence-based practices into operations and clinical protocols.Willing and able to demonstrate appropriate core competencies annually or as requested.Demonstrates ability to perform radiological procedures and to use radiological equipment.Prepares work schedules to meet staffing guidelines of the department and posts prior to effective date.Monitors work performances of all members of the department.Completes performance evaluations for all members of the department in a timely manner.Conducts monthly department meetings to ensure that members of the department are informed of all activities impacting their department.Develops and maintains a positive working relationship with other department managers, administration and medical staff.Develops and maintains a departmental quality improvement program.Establishes departmental policies and procedures that provide direction as to the day-to-day activities of the department.Assures that all department members work in compliance with established policies and procedures.Ensure adherence to quality and safety standards according to The Joint Commission (TJC), ACR, and other regulatory agency requirements.Maintains financial responsibility for the department.Develop, submit, and maintain annual budgets.Reviews financial data monthly and recommends strategies to assure compliance with approved budgets.Provides reports as requested to individual administratively responsible for the department.Contributes to a positive work climate and to the overall team approach of the hospital.Demonstrates awareness of self-responsibility and accountability for personal, professional growth.Maintains confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA regulations.Support the culture of service excellence throughout the organization.Performs other related duties as assigned or requested.Completes annual educational requirements.Understands and adheres to Bell's compliance standards as they appear in Bell's Corporate Compliance Policy, Code of Conduct and Conflict of Interest Policy.Keeps abreast of all pertinent federal, state and Bell regulations, laws, and policies as they presently exist and as they change or are modified.Minimum EducationGraduate of an accredited school of radiological technology. Training and/or certification in Ultrasound, Nuclear Medicine and CT ScanningRequired SkillsRequires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
