Job DescriptionThe Department of Insurance and Financial Services (DIFS) is seeking an experienced, resourceful, and highly qualified individual to work in public service as a Departmental Specialist under the supervision of the Director of the Office of Insurance Licensing, Investigations, and Audits. This position will work closely with the Office Director, other DIFS leadership, stakeholders, and the public. This position is an opportunity to build a career doing work that truly matters - helping to protect consumers and maintain public confidence in Michigan’s insurance and financial services industries.The Departmental Specialist will provide professional, administrative, programmatic, and analytical support to aid in aligning, directing, implementing, and monitoring office programs, strategic, and operational activities. This position will support the Office Director in developing and executing initiatives, program goals, planning, communications, and special projects associated with the Office. As part of a highly productive team, this position is instrumental in ensuring the programs under the Director’s supervision effectively fulfill the Department's mission, vision, and values.Ideal candidates will have:

Outstanding written and verbal communication skills.

Exceptional prooing and editing skills.

Technical skills with database systems.

Experience working with statutes, rules, regulations, policies and procedures.

Excellent time management skills.

Extensive experience planning, coordinating, and carrying out tasks. Including setting and tracking objectives and deadlines.

The ability to thrive in a dynamic, collaborative, and high-tech environment while demonstrating sound professional judgment and decision-making.
