Job Title: Tool & Die MakerJob DescriptionWe are seeking a skilled Tool & Die Maker to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong experience in die making, particularly with progressive dies, and will be responsible for the repair, maintenance, and troubleshooting of dies.Responsibilities
Repair, maintenance, and troubleshooting of dies.
Collaborate with the production department on all tooling issues.
Study blueprints, sketches, models, or specifications to plan sequence of operations for fabricating tools, dies, or assemblies.
Use measuring instruments such as calipers, gauge blocks, micrometers, and dial indicators to verify dimensions, alignments, and clearances of finished parts.
Set up and operate lathes, milling machines, and bench grinders to cut, bore, grind, and shape parts to specific dimensions.
File, grind, shim, and adjust parts for proper fit.
Work with large progressive, transfer, and deep draw dies.
Cut, shape, and trim blanks or blocks to specified lengths or shapes using power and hand tools.
Rework damaged components in a timely manner.
Interact professionally with fellow team members.
Troubleshoot problems to determine solutions.
Perform other duties as assigned by management.
Essential Skills
High school education or equivalent with at least three years of experience in die repair or related technical field, preferably in a metal stamping environment.
Ability to read, interpret, and comprehend safety, operating, and maintenance documents and procedures.
Ability to obtain/retain Industrial Powered Lift Truck certification.
Ability to obtain/retain Overhead Crane certification.
Ability to obtain/retain Lock Out/Tag Out Authorization certification.
Ability to perform multiple tasks in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Ability to lift up to fifty (50) pounds.
Willingness to work overtime (daily, weekends, and holidays).
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Experience with transfer and deep draw dies.
Experience in troubleshooting during the die tryout process.
Proficiency in using tool room equipment such as milling machines, lathes, grinders, and Bridgeport.
Ability to file, grind, shim, and adjust parts for proper fit.
Skill in cutting, shaping, and trimming blanks or blocks to specified lengths or shapes using power and hand tools.

The position includes 2nd shift (2pm - 10pm/12am) and 3rd shift (10pm - 6am/8am), with 3rd shift training occurring on 1st shift for the first 2-4 weeks.
