OverviewElement has an opportunity for an Associate Test Technician to join our rapidly expanding team. As a member of the operations team in Warren, MI, the Associate Test Technician position performs a variety of routine and non-routine testing assignments within the department assigned and insures timely and accurate test results under direct supervision. The technician positions must be proficient in a number of core business skills including but not limited to compliance to established safety rules, code of conduct, and company policies and procedures.Shift- Wednesday - Saturday (4 Ten hour days)Responsibilities
Performs work to ASTM and/or customer specific standards within the Materials Lab, conducting testing relative to Environmental Exposure (xenon weathering), Cyclic Corrosion, and VOC
Designs, sets-up and performs a variety of test according to customer specifications and requirements
Can work independent, requiring minimal supervision and technical input from the Department Manager
Possess the ability to mentor and train technicians who have less experience through effective communication of technical data
Ability to transfer technical knowledge/requirements and successfully satisfy and meet customer specifications
Skills / Qualifications
Possesses a recognized scientific or engineering qualification, Associates or Bachelor degree level and/or 3-6 years of significant experience in a testing related field through which an equivalent level of knowledge has been attained
In-depth understanding of testing concepts
Working knowledge of laboratory safety
Analyzes and compiles testing data from the tests performed
Possess strong computer skills
Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry a plus
