Job DescriptionInver Hills Community College seeks an Unlimited, Part-time (.6 FTE) Theatre Instructor to teach theatre courses, direct one production per year, and participate in key faculty roles for the Theatre Transfer Pathway, including curricular development and assessment.Faculty at Inver Hills Community College display a strong student focus with special attention to a range of learners, their beliefs, and positionalities. Successful candidates have experience directing college-level plays and excel in classroom and online asynchronous instruction.The college is committed to reflecting a diversity of perspectives and backgrounds among its administrators, faculty, and staff.Appointment Start Date: August 20, 2025Minimum Qualifications:

Master's degree in Theatre/Theatre Arts, or

Master's degree in any discipline/field with a minimum of 18 graduate semester credits (27 graduate quarter credits) in Theatre/Theatre Arts.

Preferred Qualifications:Demonstrated excellence in, and an ongoing commitment to student centeredness in theatre direction and education. This includes:

Working effectively with marginalized communities, including Black, Indigenous, People of Color, underrepresented religious groups, immigrant populations; people with disabilities and disabled communities; women; people with LGBTQIA+ identities and expressions; and people from economically oppressed backgrounds

Experience teaching first-generation, PSEO, and non-traditional students

Experience teaching core theatre courses including Introduction to Theatre, Acting I and II, and Script Analysis.

Experience teaching in a range of modalities including face-to-face and asynchronous online.

Experience directing college-level plays

Experience conducting curricular assessment
