The Department of Music at Augsburg University invites applications for an adjunct faculty position to teach undergraduate and/or graduate music therapy courses in 2025. Available courses vary by term. Most undergraduate classes will be in-person whereas most graduate classes are hybrid, meaning they will involve a combination of online and in-person classes. Equivalency and graduate courses are mostly online but may include 2 or 3 days in-person, full-day (8:30 am to 4 pm) intensive classes on our Minneapolis campus. In addition to teaching, the successful candidate will also be required to offer thesis advising to 5 - 10 students each term. The director of music therapy will consider the topic of the thesis and the candidate’s expertise and specialties to arrange the thesis advising work. The successful candidate will possess both a high level of intercultural competency and a commitment to inclusive practice and authentic representation.This search will establish a “pool” of instructors if such openings occur during Spring, Summer, or Fall of 2025. Course refers to a typical 4-credit undergraduate or 3-credit graduate course that has met minimum enrollment requirements.Please note that due to employment law and payroll regulations, we can only employ adjunct faculty who reside in Minnesota or Wisconsin. This restriction applies even to courses taught online.
