Job Title: Mechanical DesignerJob DescriptionWe are seeking a Mechanical Designer who will create innovative and practical mechanical and electromechanical concepts and designs for components, assemblies, tools, and products of varying complexity. The ideal candidate will work closely with engineering, vendors, manufacturing, quality, and customers on design specifications to ensure designs are free of layout process defects.Responsibilities

Create innovative and practical mechanical and electromechanical concepts and designs for components, assemblies, tools, and products.

Work closely with engineering, vendors, manufacturing, quality, and customers on design specifications.

Ensure designs are free of layout process defects.

Assist engineers with defining design standards and configurations.

Apply Computer Aided Design (Creo 7) methodologies, theories, and techniques.

Review completed engineering documents to ensure compliance with engineering and military standards, procedures, specifications, and accuracy of calculations and dimensions.

Provide expert technical consultation to the division and customer community.

Develop innovative concepts that satisfy functional and operational requirements for existing product lines and new product development programs.

Prepare moderately complex design layouts, schematics or sketches, including test plans, procedures, or specifications.

Prepare drawing packages to military or equivalent standards.

Check completed layouts, drawings, test plans, test reports, procedures, and change history documentation for clarity, completeness, conformance to standards, and accuracy.

Evaluate completed drawings, specifications, and procedures for producibility and viability of design.

Perform and document technical calculations such as design evaluations, tolerance studies, mass and section properties, static and dynamic loading.

Identify assembly interference, design errors, omissions, and other deficiencies, and recommend revisions and/or improvements in design.

Interface with various internal customers to solve moderately complex technical problems.

May interface with external customers to solve moderately complex technical problems.

Essential Skills

Proficiency with Pro-E and CREO.

Experience with mechanical design, sheet metal, and GD&T.

Minimum of an associate's degree in CAD Technology, Drafting, and Design.

At least 3 years of experience using CAD modeling tools to create complex solid models with CREO.

At least 3 years of concept and preliminary design experience.

Experience in large structures and large assembly design and modeling, preferably from Military/DOD space.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

Team player.

Strong communication skills (verbal and written).

Work EnvironmentYou will be working with other designers, drafters, and engineers in an office setting. The role requires cross-functional communication within various departments to ensure project success.Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $40.00 - $50.00Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
