Press Setup Operator – Progressive DiesLocation: South Minneapolis, MN1st shift : 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM, M-FOR2nd shift : 3:30 PM – 12:00 AM, M-FTraining on 1 st shift for 3-6 months depending on experienceContract-to-Hire PositionPay Rate: $24.00-$29.00Position Summary:An ideal candidate will have had previous machine operating experience, previous experience setting up progressive die, and will have worked in a metal stamping environment. This role will include setting up/running various punch presses throughout the shop, including progressive dies.Responsibilities:Set-up and operate straight side presses 60 tons and up, including servo presses. This will also include high-volume multi-out progressive tooling and feedlines.
Perform operations such as blanking, bending, punching, and forming based on blueprints and other instructions
Read and understand blueprints, routing sheets and/or work instructions to determine specifications
Measure completed work and use shop math to verify conformance to specifications.
Maintain production efficiencies of 80% of greater once trained.
Other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
Understand tolerances such as +/- .005.
Experience with Punch Press is required
Experience with Progressive Die Setup
Read, understand, and follow all policies, processes, and procedures.
Strong command of the English language, including verbal and written communications.
Proficient with basic computer skills.
Lift up to 50 pounds.
Possess or be willing to purchase the required inspection and hand tools upon acceptance of the job offer.
Experience in the metal stamping industry is preferred
Two (2) years of manufacturing experience
