The Manager of Government Affairs will enhance CMH's visibility while actively participating in shaping health policy formulations in the legislative arenas on local and state levels by being a reliable resource of child health care information. Provide leadership in determining, prioritizing and managing state government issues including hospital priorities and all issues which affect the health, safety and welfare of children, or that could impact the operations of various hospital departments. Develop priority legislative advocacy issues and actively pursue legislative solutions.

Provide leadership in determining, prioritizing and managing local government issues, including city or city health department issues, and county issues including county grants or agreements.

Monitor all legislation filed in Missouri and Kansas that could impact the hospital. Communicate appropriately with hospital departments that would potentially be impacted by legislation.

Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree in Political Science or related field of study and 3-5 years' experience. Must have a background in politics in order to understand the legislative process
